Hip Steroid Injections

Steroid injections for Hip pain are useful when you are not getting better with conservative treatment like Physiotherapy. There are many conditions that a steroid injection in the hip can treat. Hip joint arthritis, Femoral Acetabular Impingement, hip joint Labral tears and Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome are some of the common conditions treated with a steroid injection. There are also alternatives like Hyaluronic acid and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections for painful hip conditions that we outline in more detail below.

Hip OA

Arthritis of the hip joint is one of the most common conditions that can cause hip pain. Having a steroid injection into an inflamed hip joint may help relieve your symptoms and allow you to get back to your regular activity faster. Hyaluronic acid injections and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections are also suitable alternatives for hip joint arthritis.

Lateral hip pain (pain around the outside of the hip) is a common presentation that may respond well to a steroid injection. Some of the common conditions we treat around the hip are outlined below.
