Foot and Ankle Steroid Injections
Steroid injections treat a range of painful foot and ankle conditions. When pain and inflammation persist and you are not able to return to your normal activity levels then you can consider having a steroid injection for your foot or ankle pain.
Steroid injections for ankle pain are common after an ankle sprain where pain has persisted beyond 3 months and diagnostic imaging confirms a chronic inflammation of the ankle joint.
Steroid injections are also used to treat painful conditions of the feet like Mortons Neuroma and Turf Toe. A painful heel is often caused by irritation to the plantar fascia and this can respond well to a steroid injection if conservative treatment fails. Morton's Neuroma
A Morton’s neuroma is a painful condition which affects the forefoot. It is usually felt between the third and fourth toe and is often described by patients as feeling like there is a “pebble in their shoe” or “a fold on their sock”
